This romantic drama stars two of Egyptian cinema’s greatest: Mahmoud Yassine and Faten Hamama. In 2001 Hamama was given a lifetime achievement award at the Alexandria International Film Festival, with the announcement that a statuette bearing her resemblance would be used for the festival’s Best Actress award from that time on. Yassine, who was trained as a laywer, was a stage actor in the 1960s before he became one of the most popular romantic film stars in the next decade.
