Henry Barakat, one of the foremost Egyptian filmmakers, directed more than 80 films in a career that spanned five decades, often working with the Arab world’s most renowned actors, singers, and dancers. In this social drama, Fatem Hamama plays a young woman who works in a bank to support her family and becomes entangled in a messy love triangle involving a wealthy older man (Egyptian hearththrob Mahmoud Yassine) and his boss (Salah Nazmi). Faten Hamama won a special award for acting at the first Tehran International Film Festival for this performance.
