One of Egypt’s three female screen idols of the era, Soad Hosni is featured here. She appeared in 82 feature films with 37 directors before her controversial death in 2001. Her legacy prompted the creation of the award-winning 2011 film The Three Disappearances of Soad Hosni, which we screened at the Jacob Burns Film Center the next year.
