€0.00

Born Nouhad Haddad in 1935, the great star Fairuz adopted her stage name (which means “turquoise”) early and was prominent in on the Arabic music scene by the mid-50s. She was a rare talent, able to excel at both Arab and Western styles of singing. During 1960s her fame grew, and Fairuz became known as the “First Lady of Lebanese singing.” Her voice was a constant presence on the radio. Over her three decades, she had a repertoire of more than 800 songs and recorded hundreds of records. She appeared in three feature films, including this passionately told political drama/musical about a small Lebanese village that rebels against the Ottoman rulers in 1914.
