Watch Out For Zouzou (Khally Balak Min Zouzou) 1972

€0.00

Taking on the social changes or the 1970s in a typically Egyptian style, this entertaining film combines drama, comedy, and music. By day, Zouzou (Soad Hosni) is an upstanding young college student, but by night, she is an entertainer, dancing and singing at private parties. She and a professor (Hussein Fahmy) fall in love—and the problem is that he’s already engaged to another woman, who reveals Zouzou’s seemingly scandalous true self. Husni was known as the “Cinderella” of Arab cinema and one of the most influential actresses in the Arabic art world. She ascended to stardom in the end of the 1950s, performing in more than 83 films between 1959 and 1991. Hussein Fahmy was a great star in his own right, starring in 185 films, who went on to direct and become chairman of the Cairo International Film Festival.

This is collector Mohamad A. Bibi’s favorite poster.
