Kaouther Ben Hania is a Tunisian filmmaker known for work that constantly pushes at the boundary between documentary and fiction. Her second feature, Beauty and the Dogs, premiered in Cannes within Un Certain Regard. Her next, Four Daughters, was nominated for the Best Documentary Oscar at the 2024 Academy Awards after premiering in competition at Cannes. Her previous feature, The Man Who Sold His Skin, represented Tunisia at the 2021 Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film. Both Beauty and the Dogs and The Man Who Sold His Skin showed at ANA.

The Voice of Hind Rajab is her sixth film. Her earlier features have premiered at Cannes, Venice, Locarno, AFI, IDFA, and Hot Docs Toronto.
